Jonathan yn gwrthwynebu Mesur Undebau Llafur y Torïaid

I rise to oppose the Bill in the strongest terms on behalf of Plaid Cymru. As the son of a retired trade union shop steward and the representative of an area steeped in coal-mining history, I value the role the trade union movement has played in advancing the lives of working people since it was legalised in 1871. Cwestiwn i'r Ysgrifennyd Amddiffyn ar Syria

SyriaPlaid Cymru MPs opposed the bombing of Daesh in Iraq, as it was inevitable that operations would have to be extended into Syria, drawing the UK into an intractable civil war. In the light of the proliferation of Daesh and its affiliates throughout the middle east and north Africa, will the Secretary of State concede that the rationale of current UK foreign policy could lead to UK involvement in a war without end across the whole region?

Cyfraniad i ddadl Araith y Frenhines

Queen Speech 1Jonathan Edwards (Carmarthen East and Dinefwr) (PC): It is a pleasure to take part in this debate and to respond to the Gracious Speech on behalf of Plaid Cymru. It is also a pleasure to follow the right hon. and learned Member for Beaconsfield (Mr Grieve), whose speech I will refer to later in my contribution, especially his very valid points on the Human Rights Act. I would like to begin by congratulating the Conservative party on its victory—it is probably the only positive thing I am going to say about the Government over the next five years, so I thought I had better get it out of the way now.

Jonathan Edwards yn Arweinydd Seneddol Plaid Cymru

Mae Plaid Cymru wedi cyhoeddi heddiw mai'r AS lleol Jonathan Edwards fydd yn arwain tim y blaid yn Senedd San Steffan.

Jonathan EdwardsBydd Jonathan Edwards yn cymryd yr awenau gan y cyn-AS Elfyn Llwyd a wnaeth ymddeol o'r senedd fis Mawrth ar ol gwasanaethau am dros ddau ddegawd yn San Steffan.

Mr Edwards fydd y gwleidydd cyntaf o Sir Gar o unrhyw blaid wleidyddol i fod yn Arweinydd Seneddol yn San Steffan ers dyddiau'r diweddar Gwynfor Evans. Dywedodd yr AS dros Ddwyrain Caerfyrddin a Dinefwr ei bod hi "yn fraint enfawr" i ymgymryd a'r rôl.

Dywedodd ei gydweithiwr yr Aelod Cynulliad Rhodri Glyn Thomas AC y gall Sir Gar fod yn falch iawn y bydd Aelod Seneddol lleol yn darparu llais cenedlaethol yn San Steffan.
